If you’re like me, you LOVE football season. I just got back home from a Labor Day weekend trip to Chicago to see my incredible girlfriend, and we wore sweatshirts to get dinner one night. You can feel it in the air. Football season is finally here; I type while sipping a pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks (not sponsored). What I’m going to tell you about football season and making these picks for me is 100% true, and I need you to know this going in. I CANNOT & WILL NOT GAMBLE. These are purely picks for my own entertainment.
None of these picks I’m making here will turn into bets placed anywhere. Due to a couple part-time jobs – which I do not want to lose – I’m not allowed. And that’s okay. Money is not what this is about. I do this for the love of the game. To me, football season is about being right. Whether that’s fantasy football, daily fantasy (also cannot & will not play daily fantasy), your team’s Super Bowl chances, which NFL Draft picks will boom or bust, and so much more. Everybody wants to be right, including myself. Maybe that sounds crazy, but last season when everyone was on Cincinnati -10 against New England to start the season I said not so fast my friend. So, I keep track of my picks for funsies, and I’m prepared to give them to you for free.
Here are my records over the past two seasons broken down by week. These are all picks against the spread, according to the Westgate SuperContest. I plan to post these picks on Wednesdays moving forward. Let’s hope I have as good of a year as last year.
I’m not the best pick-maker the word has ever seen, but I do have a winning record over the 2023 & 2024 seasons of 261-227-15. If we remove all ties/pushes, that’s a 53.5% win rate. That’s certainly better than having a losing record. Now for the pick format, this will be the first time separating them out based on the actual SuperContest (pick any 5 games). The SuperContest games will have a *
I will not be picking any Broncos games this year as another FYI.
The SuperContest Picks & Why:(Chiefs -3) I love Justin Herbert as much as anyone, but there’s something about the Chiefs. This game will be in Brazil on Friday night, and I just don’t see KC coming out flat. They know how to win games. (Steelers -2.5)When you go out and get Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf and Jalen Ramsey, there are expectations. One of those is to beat Rodgers’ former team, the New York Jets. (Raiders +2.5)While the Patriots should be much improved, people underestimate what is happening in Las Vegas. Geno Smith is a damn good quarterback, and they’ve added very solid pieces around him. (Cardinals -6.5)Simply put, I don’t think the Saints are going to be good at all. I think the Cardinals are a much-improved team, especially on defense, and will come out showcasing those upgrades.(Bucs -2)It’s about to be Bucky Irving season so hard in Tampa. That offense should be fun, and I think they get the job done in the perfect conditions of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Full PicksEagles -8Chiefs -3*Steelers -2.5*Colts +1Panthers +3.5Commanders -6Browns +5Raiders +2.5*Cardinals -6.5*Bucs -2*Seahawks +2.5Packers -2Rams -3Bills +1Bears +1.5
I’ll use this blog to keep track of my 2025 picks. Best of luck to all those using these or fading me. FOOTBALL. IS. BACK.
