Not every day of scouting is sexy. My process on players is data-driven in many ways. Outliers, historic trends and season analytics make up a good portion of my scouting model - roughly 30%. Many days that can be hours in a Google Sheet inputting data, new players and constantly tweaking.
The 2026 NFL Draft is likely to be the first time since 2010 where more TEs were drafted than RBs. At this year's combine, there were 27 TEs in attendance to only 21 RBs. I looked at what the 2010 NFL Draft looked like as well as the overall landscape of the league and how much the league has shifted in the last 16 years yet we are right back where we were in 2003.
There could be - by my count - up to 6 wide receivers taken in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. How early will the first receiver go, and which prospects fit each team? Will teams trade up to go get a wide receiver? Could we see AJ Brown moved on draft day for a second time?
