PATRIOTS-SEAHAWKS RECAP
Well… FOOTBALL IS BACK ARE YOU HAPPY? You shouldn’t be. That game last night was an absolute disaster for almost everyone involved.
Except Drew Lock. My 🐐

A goat in its natural habitat
After Sam Darnold was injured on the opening drive, Lock came in and provided quite a few highlights en route to a 4th quarter comeback. But the biggest takeaway for me was how bad this Patriots offense can be. Not only did they lose AJ Brown to an ankle injury that put him in a walking boot leaving the stadium, but Drake Maye played like poo poo dog water.
He launched three interceptions, the last one in the end zone which ended the game and cemented Seattle’s 10-point comeback. It was an incredibly poor performance for the league’s MVP runner up. With Treyveon Henderson missing the game and Brown’s new injury, the Patriots might be in for a rude awakening on offense.
As much as I love Drew Lock, there has to be some real concern for the Seahawks if Darnold misses time. It felt like the team really scaled back its playbook with Lock at the helm. It took until the second half and mainly the 4th quarter but Lock hit the reigning Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba on a 45-yard touchdown to tie the game. Lock really was electric but Darnold is a more poised version with higher-level experience. With a rookie RB and no established WRs outside of JSN, this offense takes a step back until Darnold is healthy.
As for all you FAKE fans who were complaining the game sucked because the final score was 13-10, I only have one thing to say. Defense wins championships. That game was the perfect way to kick off the season.
Now today we get Rams-49ers in Australia. Aaron Donald, who is in my opinion the greatest defensive player of all time, did not travel and will not play. He signed a 1-year, $20 million deal to return to LA after retiring following the 2024 season. George Kittle is off the injury report and will play just 8 months after tearing his Achilles. Absolutely insane times we’re living in!
WHAT IS THE SUPER CONTEST?
The Super Contest is 7 picks every week for college football and 5 picks every week for NFL. You can pick any FBS game on the pick sheet which comes out on Wednesdays.
Last week, I went 4-3 in the CFB Super Contest on the back of some late night heroics from both LSU and UCLA. It’s always huge to have a winning record after the first week. Now let’s do the same for NFL kick off!
I love anyone reading this. These picks are going to always be FREE to anyone who subscribes to the newsletter! And did I mention its completely free, how cool is that?
