NFL LEAGUE UPDATES & MORE

These are the updated playing rules, bylaws, resolutions for 2026. The TLDR here is not a lot is changing unless you’re like me and really care about the new kick return rules. They’ve slightly modified how the receiving team will line up and finally removed the incentive to intentionally kick the ball out of bounds when kicking from the 50-yard line. Oh, and any team can do an onside kick at any point now — it just has to be declared. Honestly, they need to find a new rule to get the ball back. Onside kicks are lame as hell.

Anyway, back to the slightly modified receiving team lineup. What this means is there now only needs to be five (5) players with their foot on the restraining line (35-yard line in Setup Zone). It used to be 6 players. This now means four (4) players can be deeper (30-yard line) in the Setup Zone, up from 3 previously. There can still only be 2 players in the Landing Zone.

SURPRISE 2027 MOCK DRAFT

I can’t get behind being a full-time mock draft guy, but I can’t ignore the fact that the people love mocks. So, here’s a VERY very very yearly look at the 2027 draft class.

FOR THE GIRLS: BREAST CANCER

There used to be a time in the NFL where every October, teams would put on pink accessories and honor breast cancer awareness. From the gloves to the socks to the towels, everything was PINK. It was absolutely beautiful.

Since 2009 when the NFL launched its Crucial Catch campaign, teams have opened up the month of October to include other cancers. Because of this, teams no longer wear pink accessories in October. The annual reminder to go get screened is no more, so let me be the one to remind you.

I have a close friend who was recently diagnosed, and my grandma has battled breast cancer, so this reminder hits close to home.

Everybody go tell someone to get screened and let’s petition the NFL to bring back pink accessories in October.
