CHECK OUT THIS DRAFT CARD TEMPLATE
I’m finalizing my rankings now, you’ve seen some of them over the course of the last few weeks. Now I’m in full cram mode. Between watching film, pumping in analytics, upside, height, weight, athleticism scores, etc, this process has proven to be A LOT.
But I’m having a freaking blast. Look at this draft card template. Now I can make my Google Sheet numbers translate into a Google Slides draft card that I can share on socials with my grades. Pretty cool stuff & honestly not hard! I just started using Perplexity AI - switched from ChatGPT - and it was super helpful in building a script for this.

BONUS MOCK DRAFT - NOT MY FINAL MOCK

I’m not going to go super in depth on this, but I was experimenting with some trades in my recent mock. If the Jets don’t take Bailey (unlikely at this point imo), could Kansas City move from 9 to 3 to get a pure edge rusher which is a huge need? What about Dallas? It’s clear they want to move up but is that from 12 to inside the top 10, or is that from 20 up a few spots to make sure they get their guy? Do the Eagles need to move up to find an AJ Brown replacement? Could Miami make a move up above their division rival Buffalo to secure a pass catcher? Will Arizona or another team trade back into the first to select Ty Simpson?
There are LOADS of questions to answer and this is the worst time. It’s smokescreen season, so you can’t believe anything you hear.
“FOR THE GIRLS” - REQUEST FROM MY GF
My girlfriend doesn’t really care about sports - outside of Kansas basketball and maybe KU football - so as one of my seven subscribers (shoutout to my first new subscriber in a month yesterday!) she requested this section.
She basically wants this NFL Draft stuff written out in simple terms. She’s also a Chiefs fan which is BY FAR my least favorite thing about her. Most of my audience happens to be Chiefs fans because that’s my hometown. My Dad raised me a diehard Broncos fan LOL but let’s focus on the Chiefs:
Kansas City needs 3 positions extremely badly - Wide Receiver, Edge Rusher, Cornerback. The Chiefs traded away a very talented corner in Trent McDuffie for pick 29 and change, meaning they have three selections in the top 40. They can address these needs with these three picks. A sneaky pick they need as well is a long-term right tackle.
Players to watch in KC:
EDGE - David Bailey, Arvell Reese, Reuben Bain Jr
At edge rusher, these are three names to watch at pick 9 - if any of these guys are on the board, my guess is the Chiefs won’t hesitate to rush the pick in. The problem for KC: I don’t think these 3 will be there.
CB - Mansoor Delane, Jermod McCoy, Chris Johnson, Colton Hood
Cornerback is tricky because unless you believe in analytical data to determine elite CB play, there probably isn’t a corner in this class worthy of pick 9. Delane and McCoy will be long gone by 29, so look for the Chiefs to show interest in Johnson or Hood later in the first. Hood would be a great fit as one of the best pure man coverage corners in the draft.
WR - Jordyn Tyson, Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, Omar Cooper Jr, KC Concepcion
This is a lengthy WR list but the well dries up quickly. Tyson is rumored to be the Chiefs’ favorite, but if Tate somehow makes it to 9 that might change things. If the Chiefs choose to address EDGE early then they might have to move up from 29 to secure Cooper or Concepcion, both which would be great fits.
OT - Blake Miller, Max Iheanachor
Look for Blake Miller to be the pick at 29 if he’s on the board. The Chiefs have a very specific type of offensive tackle they look for, and Miller fits the mold. Iheanachor is interesting as someone who has only been playing football for a couple years. His ceiling may be higher, but with Super Bowl expectations I think the Chiefs would opt for the plug and play tackle.
