Holy f%cking sh&t, last week was so bad. We’re switching up the vibes this week.
In week 8 there were a quite a few teams in the “they” category that had a chance to catapult into the “them” category. What I mean is good teams had the chance to be great. True Super Bowl contenders. Some teams failed to take advantage.
For example, the San Francisco 49ers had an opportunity to get their 6th win and sit alone atop the NFC West with a win over the 2-4 Houston Texans, fresh off an embarrassing loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Instead, the Niners were dominated. 49ers = “they”
Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears suffered the same fate in Baltimore, as Tyler Huntley and the Ravens dug themselves out of the depths of the AFC standings to pick up a huge win just before the return of former MVP Lamar Jackson. Bears = “they”
The Carolina Panthers haven’t beaten a team with a winning record this year and were pulverized by the Buffalo Bills. Panthers = “they”
Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers did not fare well against the Green Bay Packers in what used to be Heinz Field back when we were a proper society. With a 4-3 record, a reeling defense, Lamar set to return with 2 games against the Ravens still to play, the AFC North is now wide open. Steelers = “they”
On the contrary in Tampa Bay, where the Buccaneers dominated the worst team in the NFL, the New Orleans Saints. The 6-2 Bucs sit two games ahead of the Panthers in the NFC South and tied with the Eagles for 2nd place in the entire NFC. Bucs = “them”
Drake Maye and the New England Patriots were tasked with taking down a very talented Cleveland Browns defense on Sunday, and they did so with flying colors. Moving to 6-2 on the season, the Patriots are legitimate contenders in the AFC. Patriots = “them”
The Kansas City Chiefs hosted the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football in what could have easily been a trap game. The absence of Jayden Daniels was evident despite the game being tied 7-7 at half. The Chiefs pulled away in the second half, earning their third straight win. They are firmly back in the hunt for the 1-seed in the AFC, with a pivotal matchup this weekend in Buffalo against the 5-2 Bills. Chiefs = “them”

The SuperContest Picks & Why:(49ers -2.5 at Giants)I can’t and I won’t quit the 49ers. I know I have them in the “they” category but I expect them to fire back against a New York Giants team that just lost Cam Skattebo for the year.
(Patriots -5 vs Falcons)Drake Maye was my QB1 in the NFL Draft. Yes, I had him higher than Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels. He’s showing the world why right now. Patriots look like they’re back.
(Colts -3 at Steelers)The Colts are an absolute wagon right now & the Steelers shriveled up at home against the Packers. It’s no longer Heinz Field and it’s no longer a scary place to play.
(Chiefs -2 at Bills)I’m picking this because I simply hate the Chiefs, which means they’ll win. If they win by 1, I’m going to be so mad.
(Cardinals +2.5 at Cowboys)Cardinals are coming off a bye and the Cowboys struggled in Denver. Arizona’s defense is better than people give them credit for. They might be the best 2-5 team ever. We’ll find out Monday night!

I’ll use these blogs to keep track of my 2025 picks. If you’re using this for g*mbling advice, focus on the SuperContest 5. Best of luck to all those using these or fading me.
Disclaimer: I’m not the best pick-maker the word has ever seen, but I do have a winning record over the 2023 & 2024 seasons of 261-227-15. You can see where we are so far this season. The SuperContest games will have a *
I will not be picking any Broncos games this year as another FYI.
