It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve done an intro but tonight (or this morning) feels appropriate. As I’m starting this blog it’s 3:54am central time, and I just got into bed after the best night ever at the bars. For those who don’t observe, “blackout Wednesday” aka the day before Thanksgiving is the Midwest’s signature holiday. Childhood friends are home for the holidays and you hit up the local pubs for one thing. BEERS. Of all sizes, shapes and flavors. The cover entry fee at the first bar we went to was to “buy a $3 beer.” I was surrounded by some of my favorite people and we had one helluva night.

Tomorrow (or today) is Thanksgiving and guess who is in charge of the turkey. I’m going to try and get a few hours of sleep. I have to meet my girlfriend’s family tomorrow. I hope everyone has a wonderful time with family, friends, food and football.

The SuperContest Picks & Why:(Chiefs -3 at Cowboys)If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 100 times: if Patrick Mahomes is involved, there is always a chance fort the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl. They are in prime position with a relatively soft schedule the rest of the way.

(Bengals +7 at Ravens)Manifesting this game is good. This is going to kick off the Turkey Day festivities, so I’m hoping for a close one with Joe Burrow back.

(Texans +4.5 at Colts)The Texans currently have the number one defense in the NFL according to multiple metrics. They should keep them in any game.

(Cardinals +2.5 at Buccaneers)With Baker Mayfield most likely to miss the game, I think the Cardinals have a chance to upset the Bucs.

(Chargers -9.5 at Raiders)The Raiders fired play caller and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly last week. It will be interesting to see this pedestrian offense with a new play caller. Regardless, I like the Chargers.
