I woke up sick today so I apologize for the delay. Enjoy this as you prep for what should be a super fun Monday Night Football game between the very injured Los Angeles Rams and the ultra tough, new style New York Giants. I actually kind of like the Giants in an upset with Puka Nacua ruled out and Myles Garrett on IR. Look for the Giants to scheme up a run game similar to what the 49ers did to the Rams in week 1 when they dominated the game from start to finish.

I cannot tell you how good it felt today to wake up with the Denver Broncos back in the win column. The defense bounced back and stifled one of the NFL’s best offenses down the stretch last season and in week 1. Bo Nix and the offense struggled mightily in the first half, but dominated the second half behind a huge game from Jaylen Waddle.

If it wasn’t for Jalen Hurts, my Tennessee Titans agenda would be fully back. They looked much improved and Cam Ward was making a ton of plays with his legs. They went toe-to-toe with a team that expects to hoist a Super Bowl trophy. I still believe in Ward.

The Chargers might be dead everyone. I’m making the announcement now at 0-2 with an abysmal loss to the Raiders in which they fumbled 6 times. If you’re following the picks, I did have Raiders +6.5. I thought they’d have a chance to get a win outright; I was NOT expecting pure domination without Brock Bowers.

The Jets blew a 14-point lead in the second half in the most Jets way possible — losing in overtime on a missed field goal. The Packers have life again with the comeback win. They need Micah Parsons and Josh Jacobs back in the worst way.

The NFC South is exactly what I thought it was coming into the season. The Falcons and the Buccaneers are awful teams. It wouldn’t surprise me if those two teams are picking inside the top 10 of the 2027 NFL Draft. As of today, Tyler Shough is leading the NFL in passing. I’m glad I have the over on his season-long passing yards. The Saints and Panthers will battle for a playoff spot.

On the college football side, I am still stunned that Ole Miss was able to knock off LSU in the way they did. I mentioned on Thursday that QB Trinidad Chambliss had a chance to vault himself into the first round NFL Draft conversation and he absolutely delivered on the biggest stage.

As for LSU, I don’t know how you can entertain Sam Leavitt as the starting QB moving forward. He cannot throw the ball and it’s a major problem. The Tigers went out and got Elon transfer QB Landen Clark who is a much better passer. No doubt that Leavitt can run but Clark rushed for 614 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. I’d turn the reigns over the Clark before the season gets out of hand.

Taking it all the way back to Friday night in the Big 12 where Texas Tech barely hung on against Houston. My sleeper team in the College Football Playoff this year was Houston, and their performance against the league’s best team showed exactly why. They probably should’ve won the game honestly. Tech remains a serious threat to get a first round playoff bye, but they have to get solid QB play out of Will Hammond just as they did last Friday.

As for my gambling picks on the weekend; I went 8-4 overall! We were 5-2 in college with Miami and LSU being our two misses. Both pretty shocking. We bounced back in a major way in our NFL picks going 3-2. I just can’t believe how dead the Houston Texans look. The Packers winning by 3 when I took them -3.5 is peak Super Contest.

I did twist the arm of fate by picking this 6-team parlay that would’ve paid out 49x my measly $5 entry. But I reverse jinxed the Broncos into a win and I’ll take that over a parlay hitting any day. That being said… 5 out of 6… we are BACK. Also Alvin Kamara touched the ball 14 times and had 22 total yards. I needed him to hit 30 yards. Hilarious I’m not going to hit that parlay when Cam Skattebo has 66.5 combined rushing and receiving yards tonight. Sigh.

Okay yes it’s only been 2 games but I want to talk about last year’s draft. I love watching players develop in their rookie year, and we are already seeing players dominate on big stages. Let’s look at who is trending up and trending down.

Looking Good 📈

Buccaneers LB Josiah Trotter — We all saw Trotter’s perfectly-read pick six against Joe Burrow and Cincinnati in week 1. He’s got two tackles for loss already in addition to the pick six. The rookie second rounder looks like he’s the future in the middle of Tampa Bay’s defense.

Dolphins WR Caleb Douglas — Everybody wants to hype up Chris Bell, and I get it. He was dominant at Louisville and came into the NFL with an injury which hurt his draft stock. But the Miami Dolphins made a choice. They drafted Douglas 20 picks higher than Bell. He had a huge week 1 with 5 receptions for 94 yards. He didn’t do much in week 2 against San Fran but quite frankly nobody on the Dolphins did. The 49ers dominated the game for 60 minutes.

Broncos RB Jonah Coleman — With RJ Harvey out against the Jaguars, Coleman moved into the #2 role. That was until JK Dobbins went down and left Coleman as the lead back. Denver mounted a second-half comeback and leaned on Coleman’s beefy body down the stretch to secure a crucial win.

Titans LB Anthony Hill Jr — In week 1, Hill made 14 tackles and had two pass defenses. He was all over the field against the Jets. His numbers weren’t as good in week 2 but he was still making impactful plays all over the field.

Tough Start 📉

Saints WR Bryce Lance — The rookie 4th rounder was one of my highest graded prospects. I had him inside my top 30 overall, but he just hasn’t been able to crack the rotation. That’s concerning considering the Saints’ first round wide receiver is expected to miss half the season. Not to mention Lance got absolutely blown up on a swing pass to Alvin Kamara that resulted in a huge loss. Ultimately, Lance was always going to be a project so I don’t love having him on this list. But given the injury to Tyson I really thought he’d leap into an early role. He did have a sick play on 4th & 12 in week 1 to help spark the comeback against Detroit. I still think he’s a really good player.

Titans WR Carnell Tate — The 4th overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft has only 7 receptions for 65 yards through his first two games. He was drafted with an expectation that he was the #1 receiver on the offense. While he is leading the team in targets and yards, the highlight plays have went to second-year WR Elic Aymanor who is averaging 26.7 yards per reception and scored a touchdown.

Eagles TE Eli Stowers — All of camp we heard that Stowers was far behind. Now that Dallas Goedert has been ruled out, will he get the chance? It doesn’t sound like it with Zach Ertz signing back to the practice squad.

Chargers C Jake Slaughter — I’m one of the biggest Slaughter fans, but it hasn’t looked great with him under center. Really the entire LA operation is off, but he isn’t helping matters missing some protection checks and causing Justin Herbert to run for his life.

Too Early To Tell 🤲

Jets CB D’Angelo Ponds — Unfortunately for everyone that watched Indiana’s masterful run to the College Football Playoff last season, Ponds hasn’t had the chance to get on the field for the Jets. Hopefully he can get back out there next week and make his NFL debut.

Raiders QB Fernando Mendoza — Las Vegas is off to a hot 2-0 start on the back of Kirk Cousins and a much improved defense. It’s not Mendoza’s time yet, but he will eventually be the guy. For right now, he needs to sit and learn behind Cousins.

Rams QB Ty Simpson — Yes, the preseason was impressive. But he’s still going to be sitting behind Matthew Stafford for the foreseeable future. We will have to wait and see what his ceiling ultimately is.

Cowboys EDGE Malachi Lawrence — I thought the pick was an overreach on draft day but he is on the field. He’s still looking for his first sack in the NFL which will come with time. Lawrence is a project but the fact he’s on the field early is a really really good sign.

There has been a massive amount of controversy in sports over the last week because of multiple instances where prominent celebrities had their massive boobs out while promoting sports.

The first and most obvious is North Carolina Head Coach Bill Belichick.

Those behemoths have been the talk of football and for good reason. I truly cannot believe what I’m looking at. My guess is he’s wearing some abdominal girdle? I really don’t know. Nobody’s tits have ever sat up like that unless there was something pushing them up. He looks like Sydney Sweeney’s character in Euphoria.

Speaking of her, I’m sure you’ve all seen the mega viral Novig advertisement where she has her bosoms covered by various sports balls. That has been the real tit talk of the internet, with many many many people claiming the ad sets back women in sports which makes no sense. I don’t like the guy she’s dating, and from the little I know about her I don’t think we’d be close friends. But let’s not act like a sports betting commercial is eroding feminism. I’m not going to make the argument about it helping the feminist movement, but there is something to say about utilizing what you were born with to turn a profit. She’s really fucking good at that.

I get that it’s way over-sexualized. It really was. At least you can’t gamble on politics with Novig. You know how I know that?

Because the commercial is about sports. Just sports. No politics.
