MY SCOTT FISH BOWL TEAM

If you haven’t heard the Scott Fish Bowl 16 pitch yet, check out my article from last week on footballwithchaw.com. And follow me on X for some pictures from the event. Here’s the SFB16 scoring for a refresher:

I had the chance to join the Chicago live draft event for SFB16, and it was one of the cooler football experiences I’ve done. The event raised $23,000 for Fantasy Cares and the draftees were treated to an all-you-can-eat buffet that featured mini egg rolls, buffalo wings, pizza, pasta and more. There was an open bar, but I was locked in so I stuck to Pepsi. The hype of the draft had been building for weeks, but my plan was simple: Get Bo Nix and Jaylen Waddle. And I did just that out of the 11 spot.

Passing on Jonathan Taylor - one of my favorite NFL Draft prospects I’ve ever graded - two different times is surely going to come back and bite me. The scoring format is wonky and playoffs start in Week 11. I walked up to the physical draft board and sifted through the neon colored player names not-so-neatly piled on the table next to the board. I found Taylor’s name and then I saw the bye week. Week 13. And I don’t know what happened but I psyched myself out so much that I took Justin Jefferson. The same thing again with Omarion Hampton. Maybe the only pick I truly regret, but I’m still not sure I do regret it? It took that conundrum for me to settle into the draft and grab some food. After all, I already knew my next two picks.

The wait to the Nix/Waddle turn was strenuous but very social. I met a Princess (shoutout Wendi!) and walked around checking other draft boards to see how the first couple rounds were going and getting to know some of the Chicago fantasy football community.

I have to take this time to also mention that my league was loaded with some fantasy industry pros like Jim Coventry and a few other content creators. So I couldn’t believe Pat Mahomes and Harold Fannin fell to me. I feel the same way about Cam Skattebo and Bucky Irving. That’s a DECENT 8.

Then the fun began and the chaos ensued. I started chasing upside and guys that I just like. Parker Washington is the dude in Jacksonville after ending his season scoring 75, 57, 48, 52 in SFB16 fantasy points in his last 4 games of 2025. I couldn’t be higher on him.

Xavier Worthy and Evan Engram were both players I wanted to stack with my QBs. I grabbed a couple Panthers I think have tremendous upside in Jalen Coker and Jonathan Brooks while handcuffing Skattebo with Tyrone Tracy.

The slow draft has been tremendously… slow. We only did the first 10 rounds in person. Now I make my 2 picks at the turn and then wait several hours, even a full day before I can pick again. This has gone on for three days and as of the time I’m writing this I’m still 6 picks away. I have two picks left in the entire draft, so I’m hoping we’re finished by the time you’re receiving this in your inbox and you see the full list of draft picks above.

I chased huge upside in AD Mitchell and Malik Washington at the 15/16 turn. And then I ended the draft taking a huge upside shot on Isaiah Bond and grabbing a third QB in Tua Tagovailoa to close out the draft.

Overall, I really like where this team is at. I feel GREAT about my first 8 picks. Even with the Jonathan Taylor indecision, I think I started the draft hot. It’s going to be up to some of these large upside swings later in the draft. I did my research and I believe this team has a path to huge fantasy points with the video game scoring. Imagine if I won Scott Fish Bowl 16.

PROSPECT PULSE CHECK

I have a very busy social life, whether it’s with my girlfriend, our friends, or my friends online playing video games. Shameless plug to follow me on Twitch!

That busy social life means I can get behind on scouting for the NFL Draft. Last year was the first year I took it with any remote seriousness in terms of building an evaluation process. Now that I have the process, the “template” so to speak in terms of Google Sheets, I can put 100% of my focus on evaluating talent.

Let’s not forget I’m already pretty good at finding college talent that can translate to the NFL. I would’ve tied for 5th among all “analysts” with Daniel Jeremiah in terms of correctly predicting 29 of 32 first round picks (via Huddle Report) in addition to getting 8 perfect team/player landing spots. THEY JUST DID NOT GIVE ME AN ENTRY (totally fair honestly, I just started formally doing this). My final mock draft has correctly predicted 28+ first round players for two consecutive seasons. I promise you I watch ball and I can pair play styles between teams and players. I wish I had time to put out more content but rest assured the weekly gambling picks for both college and NFL are returning in 2026. You will get every single one of my gambling picks completely FREE as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter.

All that to say, here are 4 players that have intrigued me for the 2027 NFL Draft. Some good, some bad, and some I watched while scouting the 2026 class and am excited to watch their development.

QB Nico Iamaleava, UCLA

I was on record last year saying Iamaleava was on a “Justin Herbert” trajectory after his freshman year at Tennessee. It helps that he’s 6’6 with a cannon for a right arm. Unfortunately for Nico, he got some bad advice along the way and cost himself quite a bit of money before landing at UCLA. Year 1 in LA went horribly for Nico — enter Bob Chesney. The former James Madison head coach has the chance to get the most out of the redshirt junior quarterback. Iamaleava is an intriguing prospect who has the potential as an early round prospect if he shows improvement in his processing and decision making. Tennessee’s offense has and never will transfer to the NFL, so he actually made a decent decision seeking another program. But the way he went about it wasn’t great and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. He has a huge opportunity to change his career arc with a big year.

WR Charlie Becker, Indiana

Becker burst on to the scene late in the season to help Indiana to a National Championship. He averaged 20 yards per reception and emerged as Fernando Mendoza’s primary deep threat. But anyone telling you he’s a 2026 NFL Draft prospect is mistaken. As of today, he has 34 career receptions for less than 700 career yards and just 5 total touchdowns. He’s barely played. I 100% believe he’s likely a Day 2 NFL prospect in the making, but he isn’t there yet. He’s a 2028 guy until further notice, especially in today’s NIL landscape.

TE Peter Clarke, Temple

Now this is simply a College Football 27 Ultimate Team darling here. Clarke has a very good budget card in the game, and he’s one of my favorite players on my team. Video games aside, he’s an intriguing NFL prospect who caught 30 balls for 483 yards (16.1 yards/reception!!!) and 6 tuddies. Clarke has an interesting background as well. He was born in London and attended NFL Academy before signing with Temple over Kansas (LOL). Pro Football Focus graded him with a 90.5, the highest grade among any Tight End in college football. I haven’t dug into the tape yet, but I’m excited to watch. The NFL has shown a shift to more TEs on the field in recent years, and Clarke has potential to make an NFL roster.

S Terry Moore, Ohio State

Yeah, that same Terry Moore. The one myself and @SteveNFL on X talked at length about on the Draft Professor podcast. He suffered an ACL injury in Duke‘s 2024 bowl game and was forced to miss the entire 2025 season while recovering. He’s now at Ohio State and will have the chance to compete for a National Championship. I can’t say enough good things about his 2024 tape, and I’m looking forward to watching his development under Buckeyes’ Defensive Coordinator Matt Patricia. He’s a guy I’d take in the 3rd round right now, and I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s a top-50 guy.

FOR THE GIRLS: STEFON DIGGS

If you’re familiar with Cardi B, you’re familiar with the NFL’s most high-profile free agent, Stefon Diggs. He’s currently gaining interest from at least 5 team across the league after being released by the Patriots earlier in the offseason. Yesterday he claimed that no team has a better second-best wide receiver than him. Kind of a weird flex but most teams do start 3 receivers, so I guess that makes him top 35 in the league. Pretty solid.

Anyway, about a week ago (ABOUT A WEEK AGO iykyk) Christopher Griffith turned over 100 pages of text messages between him and Diggs backing up his claims the receiver sexually assaulted him. After Diggs sued Griffith in October 2025 for defamation, Griffith filed a countersuit alleging that Diggs drugged and sexually assaulted him at Diggs’ home.

Mind you, Diggs was already in some legal trouble this offseason after the NFL was forced to conduct an investigation about an alleged felony assault and battery charges. He was found not guilty, but he’s had anything but a chill offseason. Enter Cardi B, Stefon Diggs’ ex-girlfriend and baby mama. She vehemently denies these allegations and claims Griffith fabricated the story out of “obsession”.

They must be on good terms if she’s publicly defending him, but yeah, so we’ll see how this plays out. Some potential landing spots for Diggs are the Chiefs, Commanders, Ravens, or pretty much any team that faces an early training camp WR injury. I think that’s ultimately where he ends up — whichever team needs him earliest.
