WEEK 5 CFB TOP 25
Happy Tuesday people! I’ve been at O’Hare International Airport each of the past two days — luckily I don’t have to go again until Thursday — which means I’ll be keeping this relatively short.
Hand up, I may have jumped the gun on Florida. And I’ve been too low on Missouri. But are we going to crown Mizzou now? Or will they lose to Texas A&M at home this week? Either way, Missouri QB Austin Simmons played incredible against Florida. He went 23-for-30 for 340 passing yards and 2 touchdowns while the Tigers’ defense held Florida RB Jadan Baugh to just 13 rushing yards on 12 carries.
What about Mississippi State? Alabama QB Keelon Russell outplayed Kamario Taylor and put himself in the conversation for the Heisman Trophy. Now Russell gets a date with my #1 team in the country, Georgia. Can the Crimson Tide get a huge win over Kirby Smart and company?
Alas, what you’ve all been waiting for. My updated top 25:

Game of the Week: #6 Indiana at #25 Nebraska on Saturday, 10/10 — The Cornhuskers have a real chance to make some noise in the Big Ten, but the fact of the matter is they’ve played absolutely nobody so far. Indiana is going to be a huge test, but Nebraska will have a massive home field advantage.
Game of the Week 2: #1 Georgia at #5 Alabama on Saturday, 10/10 — The matchup of the week for most people. An immovable object in Georgia’s defense meets an unstoppable Heisman hopeful in Keelon Russell.
Game of the Week 3: #15 UCLA at #11 Oregon on Saturday, 10/10 — The Bruins have a huge opportunity to go into Eugene and get a win. They have been playing at an elite level to start the season, but Oregon’s QB situation is one to monitor. Dante Moore, a projected first round pick, and Nebraska transfer Dylan Raiola have thrown for 14 combined touchdowns with 0 interceptions. Moore went down with a concussion against USC but has returned to practice ahead of Saturday.
FOR THE GIRLS: CRANKING IT
If you haven’t already listened to Slayyyter’s 2025 album titled “WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA” I implore you to stop right now and go listen.
One of her hit songs — CRANK — is an absolute banger. Slayyyter is simply a gay icon. She’s not gay, but gay people love her music. Or so I’m told 😅
She rocks clubs across the United States and I was lucky enough to see her at Lollapalooza. It was genuinely so fucking fun. She’s a superstar in every sense of the word.
Yesterday, she announced the release date of her upcoming album titled “WOR$T MAN IN AMERICA” which is an antithesis to her most recent.
It’s essentially a double album. I love when artists do this type of stuff. Whether it’s a cohesive project like The Weeknd’s two separate trilogies, or a true double feature album like J. Cole’s The Fall-Off. When storytelling becomes part of your music, the music only gets that much better.
Early birthday present for me on December 4. I’ll be listening to Crank 2 until further notice.
CRANK IT
