Thanks for reading, check out my new YouTube channel: Football with Chaw.
The first iteration of the College Football Playoff rankings is out and as expected, No. 1 Ohio State stands at the top of college football. Per my blog last week, the top 4 seeds all have red as their primary color. I really think it could happen.
Another red team with a huge game this weekend is No. 8 Texas Tech, which hosts No. 7 BYU in the biggest Big 12 game of the season. Tech gets QB Behren Morton back from injury, while QB Bear Bachmeier will look to lead the Cougs to 9-0 for the second straight season.
Side Note: the ACC has fallen off so much that Virginia is the projected 11 seed despite being ranked 14th in the CFP poll. They are currently the highest ranked ACC team in the country. Yikes.

The SuperContest Picks & Why:(Georgia Southern +5.5 at Appalachian State)I had this pick but wasn’t able to post in time, so I’m giving it to myself. I earned it after last week.
(West Virginia -6 vs Colorado)Colorado true freshman QB Julian Lewis will make his first career start on Saturday in Morgantown, West Virginia. Tough spot for Lewis and the Buffaloes.
(Virginia -6.5 vs Wake Forest)NC Central transfer RB J’Mari Taylor has fumbled just once on over 500 rushing attempts in his college career. And he already has 11 rushing touchdowns on the season.
(Louisiana Tech -6 vs Delaware)Delaware joined the FBS prior to the start of this season, and they’ve had some success currently sitting at 4-4. Two more wins and the Blue Hens are bowl eligible… except they can’t go to a bowl game until 2026 due to their transition. I don’t think they’d make it to 6 wins anyway.
(Jacksonville State -1 vs UTEP)I figure I have as good of chance in a pick ’em that I know nothing about than any other game on this week’s slate. Give me the Gamecocks and RB Cam Cook who leads the nation in rushing yards.
(UCLA -1.5 vs Nebraska)Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola will miss the rest of the season, and the Cornhuskers will turn to QB TJ Lateef. The true freshman will make his first career start on the road in SoCal.
(Utah State -9 vs Nevada)The Wolfpack haven’t won a game in two months. I have no reason to believe that will change this week.

I’ll use this blog to keep track of my 2025 picks except for week 1 since I did not know this existed at the time.
For the college SuperContest, you pick any 7 games you want. Extremely simple. Purely for my own entertainment, I’m going to pick every single game on the card with a heavy emphasis on tracking my Big 12 picks since I’ve established myself as a Big 12 guy.
I will be posting my NFL picks prior to the TNF game each week, and the college picks will come out on Fridays unless there’s a Thursday game on the card and sometimes I’ll just skip Thursday honestly.
Another reminder, these are not bets I will be placing myself. I do this purely for fun.
