Thanks for reading, check out my new YouTube channel: Football with Chaw.

The color red stands for power and strength, and it’s the most prevalent color at the top of college football right now. Each of the top 5 ranked teams daunt various shades of red, meaning there’s a chance that the College Football Playoff semifinalists could all share one common base color. Something that has not happened the CFP history.

In addition to the top 5 (Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia) one of two Big 12 unbeatens, Cincinnati, also wears the color red. College Gameday will be at their game against Utah Saturday night. If they can come out with a win, they are very real contenders for the CFP behind QB Brendan Sorsby. The winner of each conference championship gets a spot in the 12-team playoff, however no longer automatically a top 4 seed like Arizona State last season.

The SuperContest Picks & Why:(Clemson -2.5 vs Duke)I’m not really sure why I’m going Clemson here, but they return home after a loss to SMU. Duke is still without S Terry Moore who has been out all season. Surely the Tigers won’t fall to 3-5 right?

(Michigan -21 vs Purdue)The Michigan offense opens up in the Big House under true freshman QB Bryce Underwood. Underwood has topped 150 yards just once in four road starts, but at home he’s thrown for at least 230 yards in all four games.

(Ohio State -20.5 vs Penn State)Buckeyes’ edge rusher/linbebacker Arvell Reese is probably the biggest riser in the 2026 NFL Draft process. Someone not talked about much coming into the season, Reese is flying up draft boards. Some analysts have him as high as #2 overall in the class. He’s just one piece in a monster Ohio State defense.

(Iowa State -7.5 vs Arizona State)Arizona State QB Sam Leavitt is undergoing season-ending foot surgery. It’s a massive loss for the Sun Devils. Even with a banged up Cylcones’ defense, I don’t think the backups can get it done.

(Cincinnati +9.5 at Utah)Cincy QB Brendan Sorsby is having a tremendous year so far. He’s been one of the most productive players in the entire country, and the Bearcats are for real. They are currently undefeated in Big 12 conference play with their lone loss coming at Arrowhead Stadium to begin the year against Nebraska.

(Washington State -3.5 at Oregon State)Ah, yes, here we go. The battle of the Pac-2! I’m happy the Pac-12 is going to return to full capacity in the coming years, but something about the Pac-2 is just hilarious to me. The Cougars have been one of the most up and down teams in college football, but they realistically should be 6-2. They blew late leads against Ole Miss and Virginia in consecutive weeks.

(San Diego State -10.5 vs Wyoming)Head Coach Sean Lewis has the Aztecs 6-1 on the season with their only loss coming at the hands of Washington State. If you don’t know SDSU CB Chris Johnson (not related to CJ2K) learn the name. He has great instincts and excellent hips to mirror defenders. He also has special teams experience and was named SDSU’s special teams POTY in 2023. You’ll hear his name on Sundays.

I’ll use this blog to keep track of my 2025 picks except for week 1 since I did not know this existed at the time.

For the college SuperContest, you pick any 7 games you want. Extremely simple. Purely for my own entertainment, I’m going to pick every single game on the card with a heavy emphasis on tracking my Big 12 picks since I’ve established myself as a Big 12 guy.

I will be posting my NFL picks prior to the TNF game each week, and the college picks will come out on Fridays unless there’s a Thursday game on the card and sometimes I’ll just skip Thursday honestly.

Another reminder, these are not bets I will be placing myself. I do this purely for fun.
