EA COLLEGE FOOTBALL 27

Anyone that has followed my content for a while knows I love me some college football video games. It’s that time of year again, and I couldn’t be more excited. Shout out to anyone who can name all six cover athletes, only 5 of whom are eligible for the 2027 NFL Draft.

QB - Dante Moore, Oregon

Moore could’ve been the second QB off the board in the 2026 class if he had come out. But with limited experience and a lackluster playoff game, he made the correct choice to return to the Ducks. He’ll likely be leading a top-5 team in the country.

QB - Jayden Maiava, USC

Makai Lemon’s QB from last season has the potential to bring USC to the CFP. The Trojans led Notre Dame 24-21 late in the third quarter a season ago before Jadarian Price housed a kickoff and swung momentum.

RB - Kewan Lacy, Ole Miss

One of the most talented RBs in the entire country, Lacy has the talent to rise to a top-20 pick.

WR - Malachi Toney, Miami

As a true freshman last season, Toney was electric for the Canes. Not eligible until 2028 but already on the cover of the video game, much like Jeremiah Smith.

WR - Cam Coleman, Texas

The Auburn transfer links up with Arch Manning in what could be the best duo in the country.

CB - Leonard Moore, Notre Dame

To me, as of today, Moore is the best player in the 2027 draft class. He’s one of the cornerbacks that can come in and dominate from day one. A true back end of the defense changer.

HC - Curt Cignetti, Indiana

Everybody loves a Cig now and then. We’ll see what he can do with Josh Hoover, who was quite erratic at TCU.

SCOTT FISH BOWL 16

For the first time since Scott Fish Bowl 9, I’m in one of the most prestigious fantasy football tournaments in the world. I’ll be doing a live drafts in Chicago on July 12, picking out of the 11 spot.

I wish I could find the screenshot, but in #SFB9 I went QB/QB at the ½ turn. Deshaun Watson and Andrew Luck. Luck retired and I believe Watson was injured. Brutal. Anyways, it’s pretty much the same exact scoring as #SFB9 with video game bonuses. My dream!

Did I mention this is all for charity and bragging rights?!

TRADES TRADES TRADES!

The worst kept secret in the NFL finally happened. AJ Brown became a New England Patriot. Whatever happened between him and Jalen Hurts clearly had an impact. The offense NEVER looked the same after winning the Super Bowl against Kansas City.

This makes the Patriots a scary team in the AFC, although I do expect some regression. Things lined up too perfectly for them last season. It wouldn’t surprise me if they miss the playoffs but with 4 games against the Dolphins and Jets every year, there’s a reason the Pats are always good.

The absolute BLOCKBUSTER that sent waves throughout the NFL was the Rams trading for 2025 Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. They gave up Jared Verse, the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year up as compensation along with a first and more picks.

This trade potentially paves the way for future Hall of Fame defensive tackle Aaron Donald to return — something nobody imaged ever happening.

As for Cleveland, I actually really like this. But I was Verse’s number one fan out of FSU. The dude was a monster, and I thought he was the best defensive player in his entire class. He then went on to win DROY. The Browns have a young nucleus of very solid talent. We’ll see what Todd Monken and the rest of the staff can get out of the QB room of Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders.

FOR THE GIRLS: FANTASY FOOTBALL

I think every single person should be playing fantasy football. It’s so easy, fun and a great way to learn the game. The scoring is super easy, as I explained to my girlfriend the other day.

If you’re interested in playing fantasy, I’d suggest the Sleeper app. It’s color coordinated by position and every player has a detailed view with stats right there in one place.

Here’s my team that has gotten 2nd and 3rd the last two years. I’m looking to start a new league for 2026 and beyond so if anyone is interested let me know!
